Sustainability aspects of energy storage solutions with particular focus on Social implication

The seminar is designed to address the social implications of energy storage systems, with a particular emphasis on batteries supply chain. After an introductory discussion of sustainability measurement methodologies, the seminar will focus specifically on the challenges inherent in analyzing social impact measurements and the various analytical approaches derived from Social Life Cycle Assessment (s-LCA) methodologies. These include the UNEP/SETAC Guidelines for Social Life Cycle Assessment, the Impact Pathway Approach, and the Reference Scale Approach and so on. The concluding segment will be dedicated to examining specific case studies from the scientific literature concerning the practical application of s-LCA to batteries.
